Building Stronger Communities Across the United States | KDA Foundation

Keeping Dreams Alive Foundation℠ has always believed that meaningful impact begins with relationships. From our roots in South Florida to communities in Tennessee and California, our history has been shaped by students, families, educators, coaches, mentors, businesses, and community leaders who share one goal: creating greater opportunity for young people.

Today, KDA Foundation’s community footprint reflects more than two decades of youth mentorship, education, athletics, career development, and community engagement. Our connections extend across Florida, Tennessee, and California, with a growing network built around mentorship, education, empowerment, and opportunity.

The cities represented in our community network include Jacksonville, Coral Springs, and Miami, Florida; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Los Angeles, Anaheim, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Santa Ana, California.

These communities are part of a larger story—one built student by student, family by family, and relationship by relationship.

Our Mission in Every Community

Keeping Dreams Alive Foundation℠ exists to help teens and young adults discover their potential, prepare for opportunity, and build meaningful paths toward college, careers, athletics, leadership, and life.

While every community is different, the principles behind our work remain consistent:

  • Education & Career Readiness — Helping young people better understand their options and prepare for college, careers, and future opportunities.
  • Mentorship & Leadership — Connecting students with guidance, perspective, accountability, and positive role models.
  • Life Skills & Well-Being — Encouraging personal development, resilience, decision-making, confidence, and healthy preparation for adulthood.
  • Internships & Job Opportunities — Building relationships with businesses and community partners that can help young people gain exposure to real-world opportunities.
  • Stronger Communities & Brighter Futures — Creating connections among students, families, educators, mentors, businesses, and organizations that strengthen the communities young people call home.

Our goal is not simply to provide information. It is to help young people understand how education, preparation, relationships, and opportunity can work together to change the direction of their lives.

Florida: Where the KDA Story Took Root

Florida remains central to the history and continuing work of Keeping Dreams Alive Foundation℠.

Miami

Miami represents some of the earliest roots of KDA Foundation’s community work. Long before today’s programs and partnerships were developed, our founders were working with young people through athletics, mentoring, education, and community engagement in South Florida.

Those experiences helped establish a philosophy that continues to guide KDA today: young people often need more than information. They need someone willing to invest time in them, help them recognize opportunity, and show them how to prepare for it.

Miami remains an important part of that history and our continuing connection to South Florida.

Coral Springs

Coral Springs is home to Keeping Dreams Alive Foundation℠ and serves as the organizational base for our continuing mission.

From here, KDA develops partnerships, educational initiatives, scholarship opportunities, community outreach, and relationships designed to connect young people with resources that can help them move forward.

Coral Springs also represents the evolution of KDA from its early community work into a foundation capable of connecting students with broader educational and career opportunities.

Jacksonville

Jacksonville expands KDA Foundation’s Florida footprint into Northeast Florida.

Our connection to Jacksonville reflects KDA’s broader approach to community growth: developing relationships and creating pathways through which students, families, educators, coaches, mentors, and community partners can connect with the Foundation’s mission and opportunities.

Together, Miami, Coral Springs, and Jacksonville represent KDA’s continuing commitment to young people across Florida.

Tennessee: Building Connections in Knoxville

Knoxville extends the KDA Foundation community into Tennessee.

KDA’s presence and relationships in Knoxville reflect the same principles that guide our work elsewhere: mentorship, education, preparation, opportunity, and meaningful community relationships.

As KDA continues developing its national network, Knoxville represents an important connection between our work in the Southeast and the broader community of families, educators, coaches, mentors, and organizations committed to helping young people prepare for their futures.

California: A Longstanding Part of the KDA Story

California is not simply a new point on the KDA Foundation map. It is part of the organization’s broader history of working with and promoting young people.

Our California community connections include:

  • Los Angeles
  • Anaheim
  • Riverside
  • San Bernardino
  • San Diego
  • Santa Ana

Over the years, KDA’s work and related initiatives have created connections with student-athletes, schools, families, coaches, mentors, and communities throughout Southern California.

That history also intersects with HSPN Sports℠, the High School Production Network, which has helped provide student-athletes with visibility through interviews, storytelling, profiles, and sports media.

As technology continues to change how young people can tell their stories and connect with opportunities, KDA Foundation and its related educational initiatives can build upon that history in new ways.

California therefore represents both an important part of our past and an opportunity to continue developing meaningful relationships for the future.

From Mentorship to Educational Opportunity

KDA Foundation’s community work has evolved considerably since the organization’s earliest years.

What began with direct youth engagement, athletics, mentoring, camps, and community programs has grown into a broader educational mission focused on helping young people prepare for what comes next.

An important part of that evolution is KDA Foundation’s relationship with PTRG Academy℠.

PTRG Academy℠ Playing the Recruiting Game℠ — Recruiting 2.2 is a 32-module college recruiting curriculum designed to help student-athletes and their families better understand and navigate the recruiting process.

For eligible students, KDA Foundation scholarship support can provide access to PTRG Academy℠ educational services. Scholarship consideration begins through the Foundation’s Scholarship Inquiry process.

This relationship allows KDA to combine something that has always been central to our mission—mentorship—with structured education that can help young people take meaningful action toward their goals.

HSPN Sports℠: Continuing to Tell Student Stories

HSPN Sports℠ has also played an important role in the history of KDA Foundation.

HSPN—the High School Production Network—was built around high school sports coverage and the promotion of student-athletes. Through its history in South Florida, Southern California, and other communities, HSPN helped give young athletes opportunities to be interviewed, profiled, and recognized.

That mission remains relevant today.

Modern digital technology creates opportunities to tell student stories more effectively than ever before. Athlete interviews, profiles, educational media, digital promotion, and storytelling can help students develop confidence while giving families, schools, coaches, and communities another way to celebrate their achievements.

HSPN Sports℠ therefore remains part of KDA Foundation’s broader vision for supporting and promoting young people.

One Mission Across Many Communities

A map can show where an organization has connections, but it cannot fully show the relationships behind those locations.

Each KDA community represents people.

Students working toward something better.

Parents trying to create opportunities for their children.

Coaches and educators helping young people develop.

Mentors willing to share their experience.

Businesses and community partners willing to open doors.

And supporters who believe that changing the direction of one young person’s life can affect an entire generation.

That is the philosophy behind Keeping Dreams Alive Foundation℠ and our commitment to:

Change One Life, Change A Generation℠
