It was created around a simple idea: potential should not be limited by a lack of information, guidance, resources, or opportunity.
KDA works to help teens and young adults develop direction for education, careers, athletics, leadership, and life. We believe young people are more likely to succeed when someone helps them understand their possibilities, challenges them to prepare, and gives them access to tools and opportunities that can move them forward.
Our approach recognizes that every young person’s path is different. Some are preparing for college. Some are exploring careers or entrepreneurship. Some are student-athletes pursuing collegiate opportunities. Others are simply trying to determine what comes next.
KDA’s role is to help turn possibility into direction and direction into action.
We work toward that mission through educational programs, mentoring, partnerships, scholarship-supported opportunities, career exposure, and relationships with individuals and organizations that believe in investing in the next generation.

A dream is important, but a dream alone is not a plan.
Young people also need information. They need guidance. They need people who believe in them and are willing to tell them what preparation really requires. And sometimes they need financial assistance or access to opportunities their families cannot provide on their own.
That is where KDA seeks to make a difference.
We connect young people and families with educational resources, mentoring, developmental opportunities, career exposure, and mission-aligned programs that can help them make informed decisions about their futures.
One important part of KDA’s next chapter is expanding scholarship-supported access to educational programs.
Through KDA’s developing relationship with PTRG Academy℠, for example, KDA intends to help eligible student-athletes gain access to the 32-module Playing the Recruiting Game℠ — Recruiting 2.2 curriculum.
The objective goes beyond athletic recruiting. The knowledge, preparation, accountability, communication, decision-making, and personal responsibility developed through programs like PTRG℠ can help young people prepare for challenges throughout life.
No single organization can provide everything a young person needs.
Families, educators, coaches, mentors, businesses, foundations, community organizations, and other partners all have something valuable to contribute.
Students and families can connect with KDA to learn about educational programs, mentoring, scholarship opportunities, career experiences, and other resources as they become available.
Businesses can become Dream Builders℠ by supporting scholarships, offering internships or career experiences, sharing professional expertise, mentoring young people, or contributing resources that advance KDA’s mission.
Foundations and grant-making organizations can help KDA expand access to educational programs and create scholarship opportunities for young people who might otherwise be unable to participate.
Every contribution does not have to be financial. Sometimes access to knowledge, a professional relationship, an internship, a mentor, or simply someone willing to open a door can alter the direction of a young person’s future.
